A 22-year-old Connecticut woman was killed — but her 3-year-old son survived — when the toddler’s allegedly drunk dad crashed into another car in Queens, authorities said.
The woman was in the backseat of a Toyota Corolla with her young son — as the child’s father, 21, drove north on Park Lane South near Mayfair Road in Kew Gardens around 11:10 p.m. Sunday, cops said.
Suddenly, the dad crossed the double yellow lines and smashed head-on into a Toyota Camry heading south on the same street around 11:10 p.m., cops and police sources said.
The woman — who was not wearing a seatbelt and sustained severe head and body trauma — was taken to Jamaica University Hospital Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead, according to authorities and the sources.
Her name has not been released pending family notification.
The tot in the backseat went to the same hospital as a precaution but had no visible injuries, cops said.
His dad was taken into custody on suspicion of driving while intoxicated, with charges pending, cops said. He went to the same hospital with minor injuries.
The 44-year-old Camry driver also suffered minor injuries, cops said.
