Passengers arrive at Ben Gurion airport near Tel Aviv, as Israel shuts its borders to non-residents in a bid to stem the spread of the new Omicron variant of the coronavirus. The Prime Minister, Naftali Bennett, said at Sunday’s weekly cabinet meeting that the measure is to protect Israel and to avoid a lockdown within the country.
