Ppreview: Savannah Marshall Vs Femke Hermans WBO Women’s Middleweight Title Fight

Marshall has been on quite the run since making her professional debut in 2017, displaying immense power as evidenced by her nine early victories by KO. Still, Saturday’s bout against Hermans could be considered her toughest competition since claiming the vacant WBO Women’s Middleweight Title against Hannah Rankin in late 2020. Rankin has gone on to claim the IBO World Female Super Welterweight Title which she’ll aim to defend next month. Now against Hermans, Marshall will face a former title contender.  The Belgian challenged Claressa Shields for the WBC, WBA, and IBF Women’s Middleweight Titles in 2018. Hermans lost by unanimous decision, and five months later had another failed title pass at the IBF World Female Super Middleweight Title. Winning her last three outings since then, Hermans looks to show that she is still worthy of contention.

“The Albanian King”, Marku is showing early promise like Marshall, and similarly ending fights with his power. Going the distance in his fights more recently, his knockout potential can’t be ignored. Remaining aware of that is the task of Jenkins, who was TKO’d in the eighth round of his last loss in 2021 where he suffered broken ribs in the second round while fighting for the BBBofC British and Commonwealth Welterweight Titles. Two top-75 fighters in the division, getting a victory on Saturday night would be a huge step in the career of the victor.
